I’m a Business School graduate and Financial services professional turned freelance finance writer. I’ve spent my years learning the ropes of various facets of Commercial banking before transitioning to a career in Corporate Treasury (it’s accounting, ya’ll) for a large, national company.
I’m a numbers geek and a money management expert. Being immersed in the world of finance inspired me to hit my own major financial milestones and complete my MBA, all before I turned 30.
I’ve also been on my own journey to financial freedom…
In a two year span I:
- Lived off a strict budget that allowed me to save and purchase my own home at the age of 25
- Eliminated all of my high-interest debt
- Increased my salary by a whopping 68% by making a stark career change
- Helped my clients by demystifying the confusing world of finance with my written words.
Having seen the dark days of money struggles (starting from my childhood) inspired me to take the reigns of my personal financial health.
But I've also had my failures...
In the classic 18-year-old fashion, I dropped out of Journalism school to “explore the work world. ”
In the past, I’ve racked up thousands in credit card debt, lived without any savings, and do not even get me started on that student loan balance.
Fortunately, part of personal finance is making mistakes and being able to learn from and correct them. Which is reason number two why I am passionate about personal financial education.
Lastly? I love writing. I may have ditched journalism school, but the fact is I can’t put down the pen and paper…or the, er, laptop. Since 2020, when I started my Freelance writing business, I’ve helped many businesses in the personal finance space reach their clients through the art of words.
